Ostnora: Campsite by the coast

We stayed there only because it was hard to find a place close to Nynashamn and our ferry at the weekend and we were going back home the next day. The receptionist on our previous campsite had phoned a few campgrounds before he finally booked a cabin for us.
The campsite has only 3 cabins and a communal bathroom for all guests. The other two cabins were unoccupied but there were many caravans and regular guests and they were all having a party just opposite our cabin that evening, perhaps to mark the end of the season as this was the last weekend in August. We sat on our wooden terrace and watched them for a while but then went for a walk on the rocks and the piers.
The campsite is beautifully situated, close to the coast and with plenty of opportunities for walks. The weather was gorgeous and everything seemed fine.
But we didn't feel welcome there and were treated with reserve and even suspicion. Perhaps they don't like foreigners? A nice little girl of 5 made me realise that when she came up to us while we were having ice-cream near the reception and asked why we hadn't joined the party. I hadn't even thought of that - they were all so formally dressed - we wouldn't have felt well there. I said that was because we couldn't speak Swedish but she said her mum and dad could speak English and many of the others too. She must have been told to keep away from us though as later she just went in circles on her little bike near our cabin but seemed afraid to approach us again.
On the following day we had to be at the ferry terminal at 2 p.m. but had to leave the campsite by 10 a.m. and were not even allowed to leave the car there to go for a walk. We had to park it in the public car park with all our luggage inside and couldn't even use the loo later as you needed the chip to get in. BTW, none of the cabins was occupied when we drove off.

The campsite is open from 15 May till 15 September. Full service - 1 June - 30 August.

Unique Quality: The campsite is beautifully situated right by the rocky coast with many paths, piers and a bathing place for children and adults alike. Great for family holidays.
