Waxholms Hotell: Archipelago luxury
Vaxholm's most famous hotel and also one of its more expensive, although not worse than most major chain Stockholm hotels and with a lot more character. I have never had the need to stay here but I wouldn't mind if I needed a romantic break in the area. Smack bang by the quayside (the yellow building to the right in the picture) you have a perfect position from which to watch boat life, whether this means from your room or from the dining hall or the more relaxed downstairs restaurant with its terrace which is always full on a sunny summer's day. The reception is open until 17.00 and afterwards you ring for the head waiter in the dining hall. There is no night reception which is good to know.

waxholms fästning: Sleep in a fortress on an island
The old fortress is now an holiday destination.
Unique Quality: There is an café, a spendid restaurant, sauna....and more...and ofcourse the absolute splendid wiew from every hotelroom......as you are on an island.
