I arrived quite late at the hotel and asked at check-in if it was possible to get a nicer room as I have a gold card.
The man was very accommodating and offered me a choice of either a superior room or a junior suite, but the junior suite was a smoking room (although I don't smoke).
But as you rarely notice that smoking hotel rooms are actually smoking rooms (from my experience) I naturally went for the junior suite.
The room was very comfortable with a large bed, a sitting area with a sofa and an armchair, a desk, and a nice view of the cathedral. It was starting to look a bit old and worn though but it was fine.
They offered internet and inhouse movies at a flat rate of SEK 100 per night (11 euro) which was a good deal and which I accepted.
The breakfast was very extensive, a very large buffet where they had almost everything, even Swedish pancakes (that I love!!).
Overall a very nice stay and really friendly staff at the front desk.
The hotel had a fitness club with a swimming pool, a gym and sauna.
The water in the pool was a bit cold but the sauna was nice.
There is a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor and the bar seems to be very popular among the locals.
The hotel is right in the middle of the city centre with walking distance to the shopping streets and all attractions and sights, so the location just can't be beaten!!
I arrived in Uppsala by bus from Arlanda airport and the bus and railway station is a five minute walk from the hotel, so very convenient!
