I`m student and I will come with my wife to Uppsala in January. I need a flat for whole semester from January to June. I`m not interested in hostels of sexchange-stuents , i`m looking for something private. Does anyone has something to offer or recommend?
Does anyone know that kind of newspaper in Uppsala, where I could advertise?

I'm not sure what kind of study program you're in, but if it's a formal exchange program the university (Uppsala Universitet or SLU) should be responsible for your accomodation. Otherwise you could try the university's housing department: maria.ahlbom@akademihotellet.uu.se for uppsala universitet.
Studentstaden is the main housing agent for students in uppsala, though they may also have apartments and not just student rooms. I know where I live (Kantorsgatan) is a studentstaden complex but it has also 2-bedroom flats and not all of us who live here are students.

Go to the Domkyrkan (the Cathedral) of course. You can't miss it. You can see it from anywhere in Uppsala. This is the biggest cathedral in Scandinavia.
Man, you just have to see it. The Cathedral, and the surroundings. Especially the small river that divide Uppsala.
Twice there were strong fires in the castle in 1572 and in 1702. After last fire the castle suffered so strongly, that a part of stones from its walls was used for construction of the Royal castle in Stockholm. After a fire the castle came to desolation and crownings stopped there. It was used as a residence of governors of Uppland province, a prison and an archive.
In 1744 the castle was restored by Harleman. The State Hall which was used by wives of governors as a room for drying linen for a long time was restored in 1932. The university moved into the castle in 1980th.
Uppsala is one of the major Swedish student towns, and most students in Sweden uses the bike for transportation. And as you can see from this picture, taken outside the central station in Uppsala, there must be a lot of students.
If you come to Uppsala during winter, you can go see a game of the popular sport "bandy". Played on ice, but with a ball instead of a hockey ouck, this is a very popular sport in Sweden and some other northern countries. Ask at the tourist office for schedules. The arena is close to the town centre and called "Studenternas". Enjoy!!
The goal of the race is at the end of the small waterfall, and the winner is not the one who have the best time. Instead the winner will be picked up by a jury of students who checks out the most original 'boat'.
