Walking to Borås

I will be attending a conference in Boras. I will be staying in Göteborgs vandrarhem. From where I can get bus/train for Boras?
Trains are leaving from Göteborg Central Station.

Buses are leaving from Nils Ericson Terminal which is the major bus terminal in Göteborg. It is placed in the city centre just next to the central railway station.

Bus no 100 goes from Nils Erikssonsplatsen and takes about an hour

If you know where in Borås you are going to, one alternative might be better than the other.
Elfsborg is a football club and they have a famous player for the moment when I write this tip (2009) called Anders Svensson. He plays in the Swedish national team and he is an important midfielder both for his team and also for the national team. Elfsborg plays in yellow and blake. The home stadium is Borås Arena, and they dont play at real gras.
Okay... so I was only here for a few hours :) I had just taken the train from Stockholm to Göteborg and met up with my friend Henrik there. We then drove straight here for a football match he was covering and had dinner afterwards. So there's information on that in the tips below.
The only other thing I can remember about Borås is that it had a nice looking train station. :)
