 | Ibis Goteborg City: Stay on a boat

The location of this hotel is really great, not far from the Opera House and Lipstick Building, in an old boat right on the water. It is also very reasonably priced, especially for Sweden. The rooms are extremely small, with just enough room for a bed, a tiny corner desk and a TV mounted on the wall. There is a bathroom in the room as well. There is a continental breakfast available to guests for an extra 85SEK per person, per day. The breakfast area is also a restaurant at night, but I didn’t eat there. Wifi is available in the rooms for a charge. When we first checked in we were given a room with a view of the parking lot, so we went back to the front desk and asked to be moved to a room with a view of the water, which we got with no problems. If you’re going to stay on a boat, you should have a view of the water and the boats that use the canal! Even though you are on a boat, you can’t really tell. When big ships cruise by, the boat stays perfectly still. The staff were pleasant enough and everyone I encountered spoke at least Swedish and English. There is a large parking lot as well. It's about a 7-10 minute walk from the main train station. We paid 800 SEK per night.
It's on a boat!
