At the south end of the avenue is Götaplatsen, recognisable by the Poseidon Statue that was sculpted by the famous Swedish artist Carl Milles.
The Avenue connects two squares, Götaplatsen and Kungsportsplatsen. The buildings are unique in that they are divided into two sides by architectural differences. On one side, French architecture dominates, whilst on the other, examples of English architecture are the more dominant.
