We stayed here in August 2002 at the end of our Baltic trip around Sweden, Finland, and Estonia. The hotel has a good location close to the Central Station and the shops, and an easy walk to the harbour and Opera. It is a large modern hotel with over 300 rooms, arranged around a huge atrium. The rooms are comfortable and nicely sized, and although many of them have windows opening inside onto the atrium (rather than the outside), this wasn't really a problem, as the atrium is very well lit. We got a special summer rate of SEK1,190 per night for a double room, which was prety good since this is a good 4-star business hotel (and rated the top hotel in Gothenburg in the Michelin Red Guide).
Close to the station.

This is a fabulous hotel to stay in, regarded as the best in the city. The US president George W Bush stayed here during the EU summit in Gothenburg in 2001. The location is very good, just opposite the railway station (where the buses to the airport leave) and within walking distance to all major sights, restaurants and shopping. Very friendly staff and excellent service in all parts of the hotel, I have stayed here twice and would happily return in the future (and of course happily recommend it to others). On my previous stay I was upgraded to a Royal Club room due to my SAS gold card. I was given a mini suite on the highest floor with a large bed and a separate sitting area and with a nice view of Eastern Gothenburg (incl the attraction parc Liseberg) Staying in a Royal Club room also included free entrance to the fitness club, two free glasses of wine in the bar, and breakfast in the Royal Club breakfast room with a Royal Club hostess taking good care of you. Superb service!!
The interior consists of a large and airy atrium which gives a very nice first impression. There is a restaurant in the middle of the atrium where the breakfast is served and a bar which looks more like the kind of bar you would find on a tropical beach resort. The bar is actually a little house right inside the atrium surrounded by sitting areas, great atmosphere for evening coktails!!! The rooms are very large and spacious and have all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of this standard. There are three telephones in the room for example. There is also an excellent fitness club in the basement with a well-equipped gym, a nice pool area with a jacuzzi, and a sauna. Hotel guests have to pay for it but get a discounted rate. If you stay in a Royal Club room the entrance is free to the fitness club. If you arrive by plane at the airport, take the airport bus to the Nils Ericsson terminal which is right opposite the hotel, less than five minutes walk.Website: http://gothenburg.radissonsas.com
