Visit Haga! It is a small part...

Visit Haga! It is a small part of the town center, a 10 minute walk from the Avenue. Very picturesque, with lovely small shops and nice cafés some serve the biggest cinnamon buns you have ever seen. A summer night, a friend of mine and I sat by a small pond on the university area. The moon was so big and an almost trollsk fog was spread over the pond. It was the most magic moment I have experienced so far.
It's amazing so little can mean so much.
Swedish beer
by HORSCHECK
Swedish beer is divided into classes according to its alcohol content. There are class I (lättöl), class II (folköl) and class III (starköl) beers with a class I beer being the weakest and a class III beer being the strongest beer.
Class I and II beers are available in supermarkets, whereas class III is only on sale in licensed shops (Systembolaget) or pubs, bars and restaurants.
One of the biggest beer breweries in Sweden is Pripps, but to be honest, I can't say that their beer tastes very good.
Odin's lifeblood...

Drink coffee, and lots of it! Sweden has the dubious distinction of being known as the country with the highest coffee consumption per capita in the world, and Göteborg is no exception. Coffee flows like wine here, and the Swedish brand Zoegas is a popular choice. My favorites were the Dark Roast (green package) and the 100% Columbian (black package). Strange, but even though I drank enough to help Zoegas stock rise 2.5 points, I still found that by 11:00pm I was exhausted. It's no wonder they drink so much coffee here; without it, the 'sea-sleepyness' wouldn't let them get anything done.
Third club in Gothenburg
by Henrik_rrb
One of the best things with Gothenburg is that there are so many football clubs, meaning that you should be able to catch at least one game every round. After IFK Gothenburg I would earlier say that Orgryte is the second team in the city, seen to the amount of supporters.
Now, though, Örgryte is in 2007 playing in the second division, while I must put them down as number three in the city, after IFK and Gais.
They too used to play at Gamla Ullevi before it was taken down, and while they are waiting for the new stadium they are this year playing at Valhalla IP, a small stadium they share with the women team of Gothenburg, Göteborg FC.
In 2006 they did crap, were relegated. Their best (or only if one wants to be mean...) player, Ailton Almeida, was sold to FC Copenhagen during last season.
The atmosphere at these games aren't even close to those of IFK Gothenburg, with the media crowd being around 4 000.
The best game to catch with Orgryte should be a derby against IFK.
The archipelago
by jacob_m
There is an archipelago outside Gothenburg, actually mostly south of Gothenburg but it's fairly small, at least in comparison to Stockholm. However I find it nice and enjoyable.
Take the tram to "Saltholmen" (I think it's line 11) and catch a ferry to one of the islands. I have personally visited the island of Vrångö.
A nice way of getting away from the hectic cityliffe.
