Skøvde in Western Gøtaland
"Most important city in Skaraborg"
With its more than 50 000 inhabitants Skøvde is the largest city in the old Skaraborg county. The city is built on the southern slope of the small mountain Billingen (299m) and have become this big mainly because of its Volvo factory. The city is also on the railroad express line from Gøteborg to Stockholm and have good road connections to the cities around it. Neighbouring cities are Skara,Falkøping,Lidkøping and Mariestad.
All of these places along with Skøvde are placed between the two large lakes
Vanern and Vattern.
Main atractions are the newly opened large water park called Arena Skøvde,
Billingen recreation area and viewpoint over the city and last but not least Hornborgasjøn and Skara Sommarland although they are in Varnhem and in Skara it only takes 15-20minutes to drive there from Skøvde.
