There are other hotels in Trollhattan
Trollhattan big hotel, which isn't that big, is the Scandic Swandia (http://www.scandic-hotels.com).
Some medium sized hotels include the Hotel Trollhattan (http://www.hoteltrollhattan.se) and First Hotel Kung Oscar (http://www.kungoscar.se/eng/index.htm), Hotelle Bele, and the Hostel, Gula Villan.
I did not stay at any of these hotels. I usually do not list hotels, particularly those that I did not stay at, but Trollhattan does not have many hotels.

Spar Hotel: Park your car in a safe area to avoid trouble
When you have a new car, I would advise you to park in a safe area. If your trip is only a few days, you do not want to spend time trying to fix some vandalism. Furthermore, it is probably troublesome if you need to leave Sweden and have your car repaired after you leave. (It is not impossible as I read in a Volvo forum of someone who got into a car accident a few days before they were to return the car for shipment home).
Unique Quality: The Spar Hotel, particularly the Spar Hotel Majorna, is in a decent area of Gothenburg. It is about 12 mintues drive to Beko Bil (returning car point in Gothenburg), close to the city. Most importantly, it has a free underground garage with a locked door so I think the car is much safer than if you parked on the street. This is a photo of the Majorna part of Gothenburg, very close to the Spar Hotel Majorna.

one free night included for US European delivery: Ronnum Manor, IDS selected hotel in nearby Vargon
Customers in the US buying a SAAB by European delivery are given one night free stay at the Ronnum Manor, a Park Inn affiliate. The hotel is not open on Sundays except during the summer. Therefore, if you are picking the car up on a Monday, you might stay at the Hotel Eggar in Gothenburg.
Unique Quality: It is a historic inn. The main building is the restaurant and most of the rooms are in the connecting wing. There are also some detached villa, one of whom was occupied by actress Nicole Kidman for 2 months during the filming of Dogville.

brush with celebrities: Ronnum Manor
The Ronnum Manor is one of the Park Inns. (http://www.parkinn.se) Australian actress Nicole Kidman stayed at the Ronnum Manor for about two months when Dogville was being filmed. The film is cast in the United States but was filmed in Sweden.
This is a photo of the villa that she stayed. When facing the main building, it is behind a building which is behind the building on the left. (photo to be added).
Directions: The hotel is in Vargon, just north of Trollhattan. When travelling north on 45 (Vag 45), one will pass the ANA Trollhattan SAAB dealer on the right, then the driveway to the SAAB factory on the left, then a roundabout (continue straight ahead to Vargon), then passing the airport on the left. When the road ends, turn left until the roundabout, then left about 100 meters.
