Travel Tips for Andermatt
Blumenstrasse
by yumyum
Blumenstrasse or flower street is a short street in the center of Andermatt with very pretty wooden houses on a stone base and in the warm season they are decorated with lots of flowers.
Living in a street with that name, inhabitants obviously have a certain obligation.
By bike!

The best way to travel, you get to take in the scenery through your 5 senses. The most lovely part is you get to stop where people by car can't and take pictures as you please. A good sturdy bike is necessary. Ear plugs since motorcycles are omnipresent on those mountain passes (I have lost hearing because of them!). Lots of food and water because your body needs it. And good clothing since the weather can change dramatically up and down the mountains.
Andermatt, quaint city where the mountains rule!

140 km away from Zurich, 67 km from Lucerne, Andermatt caters to outdoors enthusiasth since it is the crossroads of 4 alpine passes: Grimsel, Susten, St Gothard, and Oberalp. Beautifully located, I had the pleasure to stop for a couple of hours before cycling to my campsite that evening.
