Basecamp Andermatt: Modern Hillside Lodge with Views over Andermatt

Basecamp Andermatt is a shiny new, low-cost option for mountain sports enthusiasts. Access is a short walk on a trail, about seven minutes above the train station and the Coop grocery store. Guests prepare their own meals in a communal kitchen, with outdoor barbeque an occasional option.

The owner is super friendly, helpful and energetic, as is the staff. It is neat and sparkling clean. There is enough space for groups to congregate and for people to find quiet corners, if they prefer. If you have questions about routes and equipment, you'll likely find answers here.

English seems to be the common language, and most of the guests are Europeans. In winter, they all seem interested in skiing and snowboarding, on the Gemsstock and tours beyond.

If you want a friendly, convenient, modern and basic-options place to stay, this is an excellent choice.

Unique Quality: With a ski room, a boot room, a sauna (with a panoramic view), wi-fi, laundry machines, as well as individual food storage areas in the kitchen, this is a well-organized, sports-oriented accommodation.

The kitchen has top quality stoves, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerators. The collection of pots and pans, including woks, large soup pots, fondue pots, allow for a wide variety of meals, and many guests seem to be superb chefs.

The lock-able bedrooms offer a variety of configurations with bunk beds and double beds. The bathrooms are shared and totally modern. With geothermal heat, the building is toasty warm, with nice views from the tall windows.

With friends we stay at Basecamp for four days. All house is kond of home, where you cook for yourself, you meet pople from around a globe, the owner gave us a tramendous good tips, ... Excellent.
You need to try such a place !

Unique Quality: Recently renewed house, hostel, clean, a lot of wood, view to Andermatt. We had a fresh snow but I can imagime to stay there also during the summer.
Please note - house can not be reacje by car !
Mean - you will meet there people like you - mountanieres, freeriders, backpackers, etc.

Basecamp Andermatt: Lodge and Hostel Andermatt

The Basecamp Andermatt is a nice place for People who like it Lodgestyle. It is not direktly at the street, but you have to walk like 150m upwards the hill. But because of that its nice and quite. You have to cook yourself but all the Cooking gear is there. Also a Coffeemaschine. :-)
Its a place with international Guests to have a lot of Fun with. We were 5 People and booked the Basecamp for 4 Nigths. But i stayed for one more night and it was no bigdeal to get that extra night.

Unique Quality: The Basecamp has a Sauna with Outsideview. Very nice.

basecamp andermatt: scenic view accomodation

Basecamp ist eine schöne Hütte am Hang oberhalb von Andermatt. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber wir haben auch kein Hotel erwartet.
Für die gemütlichen Skifahrer in unserer Gruppe war es praktisch direkt am lift Übernachten zu können. Für die Besseren Skifahrer die nicht am Nätschen fahren wollen, gab es einen Skibus zur Gemstockbahn.

Wir haben ein langes Wochenende in Andermatt verbracht. Basecamp war eine nette Überraschung auf der suche nach einem billigen Hotel oder Pension in Andermatt. Wir teilten unser Zimmer mit 2 ortskundigen Schweden und sind auch zusammen Freeriden gegangen. Coole Hütte mit coolen Leuten. Gutes Preiss-Leistungsverhältnis

Basecamp Andermatt: Lodge and Hostel for Mountaineers

We stayed with 3 freeriders in Andermatt for Skiing and Skitouring. The winter 2010/2011 was really bad in the Alps and still Andermatt had some snow. We can only imagine how it is with good powder!

Unique Quality: Great views, cool people in a cozy hut and best value for your money. Most people dont use a car in Andermatt anyway, so the missing driveway to the hut was no problem for us. We came from Sweden to do skitouring and hiking here, so walking 100 meters was no big deal. Best thing was the fireplace after skiing and we really are looking forward to see the new sauna next year.
