On the way to Arosa
"RhB Train"
When we arrived everything was green and when we left everything was white with snow
"ON THE WAY TO THE VERY TOP"
"ChA was taken over by the RhB as of January 1, 194"
The Chur-Arosa-Bahn (ChA), whose end stations lie 25.7 km apart with a difference in altitude of 1155 m, was opened to the public on December 11, 1914.
Arosa is most probably the only major Swiss tourist area where more than 50% of all guests arrive by train.
"Canton Grisons)"
The people who live on the mountains have wonderful view but they are quite isolated when the roads are blocked by snow in winter
"Langwieser Viadukt"
The probably best known building along this line is the Langwieser Viadukt which was one of the first large structures in the world built of reinforced concrete. The largest arch of this 287 m-viaduct has a diameter of 100 m, the viaduct has a total height of 62 m.
"Arosa express"
As slow as a tram, the Arosa Express passses through Chur, the Maltesterturm and Obertor, all hallmarks of Graubünden's capital city.
But before you know it, the city tour is over and you are on a different track, crossing the city's boundary as the bright blue Arosa Express becomes a mountain railway meandering through the wild Schanfigger valley and upwards to Arosa.

Arosa bound.
