Beautiful Landscape
I took the train a few times from Geneva, either to Montreux or Bern. The views were absolutely gorgeous; vineyards hugging every bit of vacant land leading to a very blue Lake Geneva that sits in front of snow capped mountains.

I am staying a long weekend in Geneva from May 22 to 24 (24th Monday being bank holiday). Have 2.5 days to roam around.
Please suggest day excursions/ tours in/ around Geneva. Is it better to go by public transport or should I book myself with a tour operator?
Would like comments for some specific places
1. Annecy ? how does one go there? when is the market day?
2. Geneva city tour? any good operator?
you could do it yourself for sure.tours are expensive.you could do gstaad one day, second day montreaux and third day city and then take your flight.make sure you do the chateau de chillon in montreaux and walk around the lake area.it is so beautiful.
in geneva city you oculd just walk around the lake and maybe take a walking tour or a city tour bus with explanations.but just walking around the city is fun and lots of photo opporutnities!
have a good trip,

I took this funny picture from my table at Spaghetty Factory restaurant. Here you can see some very hungry sparrows, they are waiting on a tree till they see that people are going from a table, then they com very fast to eat all crumbs in all emty tables!.In my country they aren't so hungry!!. :-)
Umbrella
In winter: thermal underwear, scarves, gloves, hat. It is best to layer clothing as the shops and museums are well heated. Bizarrely (because many medicines are made in Switzerland) medicines can be very expensive here, so make sure you bring your medications. Equipment that will allow you take pictures of snow.
Tripod, as you are permitted to take photos in most of the museums but without flash.
The Old Town is an unquestionably picturesque mark overlooking the rest of the Geneva that methodically deserves the concentration of guests. In addition to enjoying its good visiting the attractions options, I was enamored by the tranquil impression of the respected neighborhood, which is a nice counterpoint to the multinational activity that typifies the wider thoroughfares beneath.
Best place for live Music in Geneva (jazz, rock, latino, african, ...) every Fiday and Saturday starting ~10pm + disco once the show is over (latino, funk) until 5 am.
2 floors. The bar upstairs is open every day. As you wish.h
