Geneva festivals. The...

Geneva festivals. The greatest one is a long 'Fete de Geneve' lasting from the end of July to the beginning of August. Disco parades, tropical villages, concerts are all there. But, having just a couple of events to choose, I would definitely go to the fireworks' shows. One is dedicated to the Geneva Day and the other - to the Confederation Day. The fireworks last for something about an hour each, with
music. You can also buy tickets.
Geneva shopping experience: #1 Clothing - Even
though Geneva is not the cheapest town on Earth (definitely so, I must say), if you happen go there during the sales you can pick up some great stuff for the prices that are lowered considerably. Hennes&Mauritz, EPA, C&A, Promod,Vogele and Globus offer tailored clothes especially cheap in July and August. If you want something more bizarre, it is worth checking out stores like Pimkie and Yendi.
#2 Books - there are not as many books shops as I would like to see, but those that are offer quite a good choice of products. the first place
to visit has to be Payot. Naturally enough, most of the books are in French, but English-language books are also for sale. Oddly enough:))) Fireworks' show! Pictures arriving soon.
The Flower Watch

The Flower Watch (looking different every year) – one of the main tourist attractions (it reminds tourists about the fact that Geneva is the birthplace of the Swiss clock and watch making). clock's face is made of carefully landscaped beds of flowers, and it keeps perfect time!

About 25 minutes by train from Geneva (direction Lausanne/Nyon), little towns called Founex, Coppet and Nyon. Founex is where I was living, and it is a gorgeous little town--not much to do, but worth a drive through. Coppet has a little more to offer, including a lovely waterfront boardwalk along Lac Leman (Lake Geneva). Nyon is a great little city, with a shopping mall, grocery stores, a ton of restaurants, Roman columns, great waterfront restaurants and bars. There is also a ferry you can take across the Lake to France or just around the Lake.
This is a picture of the main street in Coppet.
