About GVA airport...can you buy flowers?

by roco_mx

Hey everybody, thanks for your past advices, very helpful indeed. I have another question now, more mundande than the previous ones: is there a flower store in GVA airport? let alone, can you carry flowers in the aircraft? I've never done it before, so I don't know what the regulations are.

Thanks a lot.

Regulations on importing flowers etc depend on the country you are flying to. Best check yhe country custom/import sites.

http://www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-25/

lists the shops etc at the airport. Flowers are mentioned....Fleuriot in the Arrivals Hall. Open 0700-2000 every day. http://www.fleuriot.ch

Ive had flowers that had to go through the scanner but I was allowed to take them on the plane. Although be aware you may have to carry them on your lap during the flight. Returning from Dublin, a rather grumpy Ryanair stewardess wouldnt let us put a large bunch on an empty seat next to us 'for safety reasons' (it was Valentines day, so maybe she hadnt gotten flowers of her own!)

Where would you be going? That would determine the import regulations, for a start!
I have a vague memory of a flower shop in the station next to the airport, but not in the airport itself. They are of course extremely inconvenient to carry and store on board a plane, and they will have to go through the x-ray machine.

Geneva country side & wine tasting

by eranda

This is the Geneva countryside. Only a few miles from the city’s downtown area you will find quaint villages apparently untouched by the passage of the time.

A landscape of vineyards breaking with the traditional picture of cosmopolitan city makes of the countryside a unique setting. You will continue you excursion with a stopover in a typical wine cellar for wine tasting.

Go straight to Carouge...

by Tripack

A charming village in the city...

Relax by strolling through this nice little city and animated streets with plenty of good addresses to eat, to drink and to dance.

Some of my favourite addresses in Carouge:
- Restaurant au Vieux Carouge (27 rue Jacques-Dalphin) for their famous and delicious Swiss Cheese Fondue specialties in a very popular and friendly athmosphere.
- Café du Marché (Place du Marché) a wide wine selection carte to combine with some creative and original dishes. A pleasant athmosphere and service.
- Au Chat Noir: nice place for a beer, for a chat;-) or live concert...

Take a trip to the area of

Jura wines.
This wine region might not be the best known or appreciated in France, but yet non-expensive and sometimes complex white wines are produced there. Suitable with local cheese flavoured food.

The 'BYPASS' !!!! A nice place...

by Dany_Kulta

The 'BYPASS' !!!! A nice place with good house music, and a lot of people everytime! Many special nights, special events!
At the entry, you receive a 'credit-card' and can take inside all what you want....But at the end of the party, you have to pay to get ou =) ....Don't be drunk and consume more than the money that you have...lol In Geneva, many discos are select! So try to wear fashioned clothes :)
