Luxury on the lake
Located on the northern bank of Lac de Genève, Hotel d'Angleterre is one of the city's exclusive historic hotels, belonging to "The Leading Small Hotels of the World". It was built in 1872 and has since maintained its old world feel and exceptional service, albeit modernised through recent renovations. The interior and all of its 45 rooms are decorated with beautiful antiques. I stayed here in August 2005 while in Geneva on business. My stay was most pleasant of course, but my only complaint was that my room was quite small, only a touch larger than the bed itself! Nevertheless, I would stay here again if I visited Geneva on an expense account, given the steep price.
