Apartments in Geneva May-September

by life-21

Hi everybody!

I'm searching for a luxurious apartment in the centre of Geneva (Gologny is preferable) for the period May-September. A furnished apartment with 2 bedrooms.

Do you by chance have any idea how to find nice apartments quickly? Your help will be appreciated a lot!

Thanks in advance!

Ekaterina

Usually the expat community is a great help in this regard. Often good to talk to them first to see how they delt with a move like that.

Couple of suggestions.

Travel Tips for Geneva

by bratsch

If you like DARK chocolate and you want the very best, go to the chocolaterie Micheli, 1, rue Micheli-du-Crest (near the hospital). Aside from an extraordinary selection of pralinés, taste the bar chocolates from 75 to 100% cacao!

the lesser known area of liberal laws

by Pounder73

Once in Switzerland, I found out that they have some of the similar laws on marijuana, as Amsterdam, with some variations. And even the laws vary between Geneva and the rest of Swiss. While in Geneva I discovered this, and went to find a “coffee shop” on my last day there. Once I found the shop that sold plants, I later discovered that the “coffee shops” are still illegal in Geneva, until 2004 (I believe). In Geneva, they are allowed to sell plants, lighting, other accessories but not the final product (ie buds and hash). This is however different in other parts of Swiss, such as Bern. Where there are “coffee shops” but with stricter laws attached. For instance, they close at 5pm sharp. I did not go into any of these coffee shops, so I don’t know on other laws associated with, but once there, I am sure you can find your way around.

hockey time

Friday night we went to watch Servette play against Langnau - Swiss top league. Good game but a disappointing crowd. Well, warm clothing to start. Also a telephone number for a taxi if you need one. None go past - we waited a while. Plenty money as well - not cheap to get in.

Discover the Green side of Geneva

The countryside of Geneva could be worth to visit. Especially if you are a wine amateur.
Each Saturday you could visit (as I did) some producers which will offer you free wine tasting at their domains.

You could also rent a bike for an beautiful tour through the Geneva vineyards as Bourdigny > Choully > Peissy > Russin > Dardagny and stop in the winery of your choice. See my sport travel tip for more details.

Here is an interesting club to visit, called Arthur's Club. Or if you want a coctail bar try Arthur's Rive Gauche. The picture on the left is from there. Visit them at: http://www.arthurs.ch/
House music is played in Arthur's Club, but also some designer's defiles like Givenchy, Thiery Mugler, etc. fashionable
