Eat Savoie!
Like in Switzerland in the mountain raclette is very famous here. It is usually served with ham accompanied by a wine of Savoie. Savoie cuisine is also rich with local products of character: pate, local cheese, pike fisch from the lake, 'pormoniers' – sausages with herbs and vegetables.
This is restaurant L´Ancolie at Cruseilles, where we had a splendid 8 course dinner with the most complete cheese plate I´ve ever seen!
On of the best 5 Michelin (red=pleasant) star restaurants in the world with 3 exceptional local cuisine flowers is located at Veynier-du-Lac and called
Aubergine de l´Éridan
And now to my traveloque of Annecy...

Why Off the Beaten Path, there are not many people who will climb a circular stone staircase, and even fewer who want to be perched in the air, too high they say or I fear heights.
So yes it is for the fearless or foolish or the young at heart.
The views are almost self explanatery with views from the tower of the Cathedral of St Pierre, looking over the lake or the city of Geneva.
Excursion - France
by jacob_m
Geneva is very close to the French border, make some one-day excursions to French cities like Lyon, the small and old town Annecy, and the city of the Olympic games, Grenoble. Or why don't just go up in the mountains and enjoy the beautiful view, the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc, is neither far away.
Summer hang-out
by vanessadb about Carouge
Carouge is a small little town in the outskirts of Geneva that becomes very happening during the Summer days. The main square, Place du Marche (Market Place), is full of bars and terraces that are all packed as soon as it nice and warm outside.
Rue Vautier is a street that runs from the Market Place where you'll also find some cool bars: Marchand de Sable, Cafe de la Plage, Chat Noir and Cafe de la Forge.
Carouge is also worth visitng during the daytime: the Sainte-Croix church, the market, the artisan's workshops and galleries, etc. casual
