Sant Francoise - check out the views
cross the road from the train station away from the lake and take the gentle inclining road uphill to the left - walk for a few minutes and then up on your right you''ll see a high building which is actually a carpark with a service station - I discovered this when i saw people up on the top and so it looked like a proper look out viewpoint.
but taking myself up to the top of the lifts inside the carpark i couldnt see any way further to to the top and outside. i got good directions from one of the guys working in the service station with also directions to continue on further to the cathedral.
So up on top of the carpark is an official park and square area called Francoise. along from here are buses to various places, the Lausanne Palace Hotel and Spa complex, and a bustling street area leading to the cathedral.
