    This hotel is situated on the lake. I had a window looking out to the lake but the traffic at all hours and the summer sun made my room uncomfortable.

    • I have stayed here many times and it works fine as a business hotel. There is a bit of a hurreid atmosphere; suited-up men in the 40-50ies rushing around taking in their cell phones.

    Free internet access for guests in the business area.
    Pleasant lobby bar.
    Proximity (walking distance) to the harbour for the tourist boats and the commuter ships to France and the harbour road restaurants.

    • Its a nice business hotel which is busy through the day n even night. Rooms r clean and spacious and the view outside is beautiful. It overlooks d Lake Leman and is just a short walk 2 olympics museum. Its away from the main hub of the city but in the happening ouchy area which makes it a great place to stay. there r nt many shops around but there is a Coop store right next door, and a nice bar across the street which has excelent caramel vodka shots. If i were to go back to Lausanne i'd go for movenpick. The breakfast is lavish as well

    I travel every year to Lausanne for some years and the Movenpick is my best choice to stay. The hotel is located just in front of the Lac Le Man in an area where you can jog, walk, have an ice cream or just enjoy the view of the boats and the pleasant Mont Blanc. Moreover, the area is full of people having fun with their families (at least in the summer and the Springfield) and some free musical shows in the weekend’s evenings.

    The price is very fair for Switzerland (where you pay almost U$ 40.00 for a lunch at Mc Donald’s) and the rooms have all necessary gadgets for a business traveler. The bathroom have a tub and the Queen Size bed can be good friends at the end of a heavy day working in the chocolate land, of course, after you spend some hours in the gym.

    The gym is something absolutely complete, they maintain equipments for all basic and more specific exercises in a clean, light and wide area close to the Hotel. The sauna complete the facilities for this, and if you want to spend some money you can rent some hours in a Golf Club, sailing in the Lac Le Man or skiing in the mountains.

    At the hotel you can request some useful services such as money exchange (however I strongly recommend the automatic machines at Le Gare – train station – where you don’t have to pay for this service and will find a better conversion rate); umbrellas when it’s raining or snowing; taxi service at the hotel main door; and if you want to try a typical Brazilian drink, you can order a Caipirinha made with genuine Brazilian cachaça at the bar.

    Great View: Request a room with a view to the Lac Le Man, it’s absolutely beautiful.

    Restaurant: The food is very nice, not so expensive (for Switzerland, remember …) and they can serve the genuine Movenpick Ice Cream, directly from the source.

    Location: You can walk for some blocks and have a big variety of restaurants, bars and other interesting places to see. You will be at Le Ouchy, probably one of the most charmings neighborhoods in Lausanne.

  • Directions: At Le Ouchy, you can walk from the trainstation if you're not taking many luggage. The taxi from the trainstation to the Hotel will cost something close to 15,00 CHF and you always can choose the subway, which maintains a station one block from the hotel.

    Nicely designed, modern looking hotel. Friendly and professional staff. Ask for a room overlooking the lake. Bar and restaurant all very satisfactory. Rooms are spacious, good firm beds with plenty of pillows. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We got it on an Olympic Package deal costing £140 in total and it included one night's stay on a Saturday, a free three course meal with introductory cocktails and entrance into the Olympic Museum which is a five minute stroll away. Best hotel we stayed in during our visit to Switzerland.
