Leysin--Dining & Skiing in the Swiss Alps
Leysin is a beautiful little village that has become a skiing and snowboarding respite. Riding along the tiny winding road that leads to the village will be a heart jolting and hair raising experience to say the least, but the views from Leysin are incredible!
Leysin was once a high-altitude centre for the treatment of respiratory diseases, but now is known mostly for its snowboarding. Lifts and gondolas from the village serve a host of red and blue pistes, as well as a half-pipe for snowboarders below the peak of La Berneuse (2048m), where there’s a panoramic revolving restaurant. The restaurant offers spectacular views and even hosts live concerts at certain times of the year.
The lesson I learned from my visit to Leysin was to take the barely trodden paths in Switzerland and you might end up in a place as beautiful as this!
