Our accommodation at Villa St. Germaine, was classed as a Budget Hotel. It was an attractive old style Swiss Villa, several stories high.
The lady at reception spoke good English and was very pleasant. We had booked a room with a shared bathroom, and she upgraded us to one with our own bathroom for the same price.
The room was big, had everything we needed, plus we had our own balcony which gave us lovely views of the Mountain's, it was really nice.
We had laundry that needed doing, only to be told, Switzerland doesn't have Laundromat's. The kind lady offered to do our washing, and she only charged 5chf, I think that was a bargain!
The Hotel was quiet, my only complaint was, it smelt of Cats!

It is located quite close to the Lake, the town centre, and a bus stop.
As we stayed here 3nights, the FREE RIVERIA CARD was included in the price.

Residence Castel les Chenes: Stunning aerie B&B over Montreux-Territet

This house has a breath-taking location over Territet in the hills. If you come be foot it goes very steep up the hill starting at the Territet railway station (from where also a cute cablecar goes to Glion - do not miss this - it costs you only CHF 4 one way) - two long staircases until you are on the height of nearly the highway - but the highway does not disturb, passes by Territet through a long tunnel in the mountain. From my window I had a stunning view over the complete lake and Montreux with two small balconies. The very large victorian style room had simple but new furniture, all completely clean - bathroom and toilet on the floor, but again completely clean. TV is not available on the room - only in the common saloon. Perfect breakfast costs CHF9 surplus.

Quiet place off the tourist masses at the lakeside. Stunning house and large rooms with high ceilings. Gives you a feeling of eagle aerie over Montreux.

Nice hostel in Vevey

If you are coming to Montreux Jazz festival, this is a great place to sleep. The hostel is very nice and extremely clean, not far from Montreux (you have free buses during the Festival and it takes 20 minute to get there). The staff is very nice and helpful.

From the terrace there is a beautiful view on the Lake Geneva and surrounding mountains. There is a huge and well equipped kitchen there which you may use any time of the day/night.
If you want to come there during Montreux Jazz Festival it is convenient to book it few months earlier.
The prices are 24 CHF/bed, sheets extra 5 CHF
