Great Location
The hotel is right next to the train station, we new this when we booked, our room was on the other side of the building away from the platform, the windows had wooden shutters, this was good for keeping the heat out, ( no air-conditioning ) and the noise, which didn't bother us.T he rooms are not big but adequate, breakfast was the usual continental, no hot food, but again adequate, you could also have an evening meal here which they were known for, it had a bar, but i don't know if you could only get drinks with meals, i didn't ask, it had a small lounge area, and also outside seating on a patio, were i never saw anyone sitting, i would have done myself, but too busy sightseeing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were given a pass that you could use for half price things, the hotel is near the shops, and a slow 10min walk to the lake. I would stay here again. It was a lot cheaper than other hotels of its kind, and as long as its clean and comfy it didn't matter about fancy frills.
Unique Quality: The hotel did have a pool, but thats all it was, and if all you wanted was a swim then its good, it was in the basement. We used our free bus pass to go from one end being were you could get the finicular railway, up the mountain to a fantastic restraunt and fab views, half price, and the other end which was Bouveret, this is were the boat could take you across the lake to the miniature stream train park for young and old, and the water park, both half price, we also used the free bus to go to Montreux about 40min away, ad got into Castle Chillon for half price. For transport to other parts of the lake there were plenty of boats.

Hotel de Famille *** -...
Hotel de Famille *** - conveniently central and situated by the railway station but only 7 minutes walk from the lakeside. Has an indoor swimming pool. Large sun terrace on the roof but it does overlook the railway line - great for train spotters though!
