Saas Fee and its glaciers
The glacier village Saas-Fee is in the canton of Valais in the south of Switzerland. Saas-Fee is part of the German speaking Valais and is on 1800 meters over sea level near the Italian border. I found the glaciers to be more impressive here than the ones of Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland.
Saas-Fee is a very beautiful village high up in the mountains of Switzerland. It is surrounded by an impressive number of the highest peaks in the Alps, many of them being over 4,000 m high. The structure of the village and the design of many buildings are like in the old days. Even the newer buildings fit nicely in the old structure (with few exceptions). Though not a top destination for experienced skiers, staying in Saas-Fee is a joy for everyone.
I plan to write a lot more about Saas-Fee on the short term.
