A local preist has his statue in the village centre by the fountain and town hall. Father Johann Josef Imseng (1806-69) worked as a hotelier in the valley and as a mountain guide, bringing visitors to the valley.

Ski Season
Has anybody skied in Saas Fee in the summer.
If so can you advise what it is like - how long the lines - what the village is like in the summer etc.

I haven't skied there in summer; but was on the piste because that was the start of my climbing tour.
The village is one of my favourite summer destinations. It's alive, cosy and the surrounding nature is stunning.
