The Hotel Elite is a two star house in the center of Sion. It is close to the shops and department stores and within walking distance from the railway station.
They have two categories of rooms. We had a standard double room with a balcony. Not all rooms have balconies. Our room was on the backside and therefore quiet. The ensuite bathroom was tiny but practical with a toilet, sink, shower, hair dryer and two towels each. We paid CHF 140.00 including breakfast for the night in August 07.
The Hotel Elite is family run and the guy at the reception is very friendly and helpful. We booked for two nights directly online with the hotel and were able to extend for one night. The hotel seems to be rather busy with tourists as well as people on business or workers on assignment, so I recommend to book ahead.
The hotel has its own restaurant called "Chez Laurette". We didn't get round to eat there but looking at the menu they have a wide variety of local and other specialities.
Breakfast on working days is from 6.30 till 10 am, shorter hours on weekends. They serve tea, coffee or hot chocolate, butter and jam and you help yourself to fresh buns, croissants and bread, cheese and ham. We stayed three nights in the family run Hotel Elite. They have 29 rooms in two room categories: Standard and Upper category.
We booked our standard double room by e-mail directly with the hotel.
All rooms are en-suite and equipped with a TV, hairdryer and a phone. Our room had a little balcony facing the courtyard.
We payed 140 CHF per night for the room. The price included a basic buffet style breakfast.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. A small selection of tourist brochures is available at the reception desk.
