The best apres ski are Schneewittchen, Papperla Pub and Stafel Alp. Please find more info about these on following link:

Also very good for apres ski are the ski huts. Please visit following website for more info:

Mountain Memories

by sandysmith

Mountaineering is a way of life for many in Zermatt and for visitors. Many attempts on climbing the Matterhorn are recorded in the local Alpine Musem.

There are tales of courage and victory as well as tragedy. The most famous accident was in 1865 when a rope broke and killed 4 out of the 7 climbing party.

Summer skiing on a Swiss snowy beach?

by Tripack

Would you like to go skiing or snowboarding right in the middle of summer? Visit Saas-Fee or Zermatt summer ski area on high altitude glacier.

These two biggest and attractive summer ski areas are for the first time offering combined ski-passes during the summer season from 2 July to 31 October.

Saas-Fee and Zermatt are a 40 minute drive apart. 41 km of groomed carving and mogul runs as well as summer parks with a half-pipe and obstacle courses for freestylers provide the ultimate snow experience on hot summer days.

Electric Vehicles

by sue_stone

Zermatt is a car-free town, though don't despair about having to drag your suitcases for miles to your hotel, as there are these cute electric vehicles that whiz around town.

Most hotels and many restaurants seemed to have their own branded ones zipping about the place, and there are taxis as well. We were collected from the station by our hotel's electric car, and as we alighted the train there seemed to be a sea of these odd little vans waiting for people just like us.

It is worth noting that these electric cars practically make no sound, so be careful if you are walking on the road as they tend to sneak up on you! And they drive fast.

If you are driving to Zermatt, you will actually have to park your car in a giant car park in Tasch, and then catch the train into Zermatt, which takes around 10 minutes.

Restaurant Z'Mutt

Our first little hike led us via the Matterhorn Panorama trail to Z'Mutt at 1936 m. Z'Mutt is a small hamlet of Zermatt and has at least two small restaurants for the thirsty hikers.

We chose "Restaurant Z'Mutt" which offers various possibilities for outdoor seating. The Restaurant itself is located in a lovely old wooden building. It is only open from May until October from 9:30 until 17:00 h.

They offer warm snacks and several homemade cakes, depending on availability. I had a shandy to drink and shared an apple strudel with my friend. The big piece of apple strudel was really delicious. Prices were reasonable.
