FLOWERS

SOME OF THE HOTELS HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ADORNED BALCONIES WITH VERY COLORFUL FLOWERS. THE MOUNTAINS AROUND ZERMATT IS IT'S BEST FEATURE TO ME. I CAN'T HIKE FAR BUT WITH THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS THEY HAVE I AM ABLE TO GET UP THERE TO SEE ONE OF THE BEST VIEWS OF EUROPE.
Warm clothing

I don't know about the heart of summer but starting at the end of August make sure you have a warm jacket and maybe even gloves if you go to the top of a mountain. Dont' forget camcorders or cameras, the views are fanstastic.
Findeln
by sandysmith
It was quite an overcast day....so didn't want to go too high. We opted for the Sunnegga funicular which goes underground. The village of Findeln, a short walk from the funicular summit, is quite scenic for the Matterhorn....but we didn't see the Matterhorn that day.......hiding in the cloud somewhere.
Horse drawn carriages

If you happen to stay at a really posh hotel, then you can be zoomed around in one of these horse-drawn carriages owned by the hotels themselves. Well, maybe "zoom" is incorrect, but must be a pleasant ride... perhaps not for the horses though, but they seemed well taken care of.
