We arrived at night so we didn't see the magnificent view until the break of dawn. What can I say except, WOW! I'm not one to praise if a place is not worthy of it, in fact I am brutally honest and and don't hand out compliments unless they are well deserved but I will be singing the praises of the Riffelalp for a long while.
Isolated 600m above Zerrmatt you will find this small lovely ski in/out luxury hotel. Our room had an amazing view , a very comfortable king size bed and a top of the line jacuzzi tub, very nice. Our suite was big enough but I have heard the standard room are a bit small. Service was very quick and efficient. I never waited for anything. Swiss staff were helpful (curt but helpful) Italians staff much more friendly. They have a dine around program with affiliated hotels/restaurant if you get bored with the food but I was more than satisfied and dined out only once when I was craving Japanese food.
The pool is the highest outdoor pool in Europe but wasn't open long enough for me to utilize it. The wellness center was very good and massages were excellent especially the le Stone treatment. All of the wellness area including saunas, steam rooms showers etc were strictly adult and no swimming gear allowed (translation NAKED!) ....so get of the slopes and into the wellness area early to avoid the crowd. I loved the steam room and dream room!!
