The promenade along the lakeside is my favourite spot here in Ascona. So, each time I come here on a day trip I have to walk up and down and have my ice cream (gelato). Note the trees along the lake before they get their leaves. They do look rather funny.
Also, when you hang around the promenade you will quite likely see some really fancy sports cars along there too.
In the maze of the alleys of this cute town you will have the chance for some fancy shopping. But mind you the accomodation available is not only 4 and 5 star hotels but also holiday appartments and other accomodation.
