Try again: "Souvenirs with the Chiasso logo, or Futbol Chiasso clothing"

by Wanttobethere

This is a repost, because for some reason, the original was erased!

The question is: where is the best place to purchase a coffee cup, or polo shirt, or hat, etc., with the Chiasso, Switzerland logo? I will be in Chiasso on a Sunday afternoon in the next few months, so the purchase might have to be via the Internet if the stores are all closed.

A member here DID reply to the first post, since I even got an email notice of it. But when I tried to follow the link back to the reply, it did not work, and I also discovered my post and the reply had been erased.

So, to the person who initially responded, or anyone else who might know, please try again.

Thanks!

cgf;

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Actually, the first person I wrote to was the Mayor, carefully outlining when I would be there, the short time frame I had, and because many of the stores might be closed on a Sunday, if he could advise which one might be open. No reply.

I then did find the fcchiasso site via Wikipedia and have written to them also, so far, no reply but hope springs eternal. I then joined this site to see if anyone can help or at least explain why the silence.

Thanks again!

Many shops in the centre of Chiasso are open on Sunday afternoons, between 14.30 and 18.00, but only on the first and the last Sunday of each month.
This will go on until the end of May, I don't know if it will continue in the following months.

Ok Wanttobethere
Probably some shops of souvenir would be opened "on a Sunday afternoon in the next few months", Sunday should be the best day for them particularly Spring/Summer, for sure if the have or not what you're looking for... it has to be check there.. we're talking about Chiasso FC not Milan AC or Manchester United Ltd * btw they are playing tonight.

Travel Tips for Chiasso

Clocks

by d_d

Switzerland is famous also for clocks and watches.
Some year ago, in Chiasso there were hundreds of watches shops, very cheap respect to italian ones. Today many of them have been closed, but there are still many, but not so cheap.

BAR's blackboard posters

by d_d

It's a classical in switzerland (almost in 'Ticino' canton) finding bars with blackboard posters.
In Chiasso the more frequent notices refer to the 'historiacal' products for Italians or transit persons: choccolate, cigarettes, coffeee and spicy soup dices.

nebbiopoli

by call_me_rhia

Nothing stirs in chiasso for nmost of the year... it's really as dull as a place can get... and then, for abot 4 glorious days, the town comes alive for Carnival - the local version is called "nebbiopoli" (fog-land). If you don't believe me, ask Piccolina on VT. These 4 carnival days there is music, dancing in the streets, parades, people wearing costumes... and lots of booze. Some of the traditionals carnival bands performing are "i grezz" (the rude ones) and "sbodaurecc" (moving ears). Their websites are sadly only in italian, but you can get a feeeling of their music by simply looking at their pics

Websites:
http://www.igrezz.ch
http://www.sbodaurecc.ch/

in case you're checking the second address, surf through this: soci->sousafoni->yari zucchetti. You'll see one of my former students - not the best of the lot, but for sure the funniest and craziest

Mövenpick

by d_d

In Chiasso main square, there's (as in every city or town in Switzerland) Mövenpick. Here you can drink or eat something or taste the famous mövenpick icecreams.
Quite expensive (almost for italians), but very typical!

Chiasso

by myriam_c

When we travel to Italy we usually spend the night in Chiasso. It's a 9 hour drive from where we live, which is just perfect for us.
We like its location, only 27 km from the Lake Lugano and 2 min. drive from Lake Como.
Chiasso is not what I would call a pretty city but it's very convenient for an overnight.
