Lake Maggiore to Italy
by JudyinPA
We took the boat on Lake Maggiore from Locarno to Italy and Isola Bella for a day. The train departed from Stressa to return us to Switzerland on a scenic boat and train trip for the day. The Swiss Pass gave us a discount but it cost us about $45 for the round trip. Lunch was served on the boat and was an option.

Rising steeply from the shore of Lake Lugano, Monte San Salvatore is one of the most popular destinations while the boats on Lake Maggiore make stops at the small garden islands of Brissago and connect Ticino to the lakeside market towns on the Italian side.
Locarno , Italy or Switzerland?!

"locarno , a pradise in the south of switzerland"
locarno is definitely one of most beautiful cities in the world (my opinion ! ) .every thing seems charming and nice.aproximately all people speak italian there ,completely reverse of another sopts in the switzerland .all in all locarno with it's awesome views and hospitable people is a paradise.
i like there because every thing is different of whole switzerland.
Although most visitors enter the canton from the north by road or rail, the most scenic journey begins in the Italian town of Domodossola to the west and passes through the rugged Centovalli (hundred valleys).
i used to be in locarno many times. locarno lake is fascinating and attractive.lugano is close to locarno and you can drive about an hour toward there.
i had a crazy day in locarno when i tried to get a train to spiez.i got the ticket for spiez.when i get in train ,i considered that we're going toward Dommodossola in italy first.and it was very strange for me.the train went about 100 Km inside the italy and then after an hour came back to switzerland.it was very long trip ,but nice and unforgetable.
