the maggia river delta
by call_me_rhia
It's an iteresting place to visit... and for several reasons.. First of all, in summer, it's a popular swimming place: the river banks are sandy and the stream isn't too strong. You should pay attention, anyway, as people have drowned in the past here. Still in summer, in the evening, many locals go there to have barbecues, so it might be an idea to go meet some people.
Year-round, in case you are into birdwatching, bring your binoculars and spend a quiet afternoon there: there's many interesting bird species to admire.
The river delta mark the "border" between Locarno and Ascona and it's really easy to find: just follow the signg that point you to the delta campground

Camellia on the lake
by mauro_pd
Yes, for sure you can buy a lot of flowers into a flower shop ... but ... what about visiting an exhibition ? isn't it better not to have the problem to choose ???
Do it in Locarno, a nice city, a quiet one on the lake ... and if you do it in 2005 then it will be the best !!! Camellia's year in Locarno !!!!!
"Camellia bellisssima !!!!!!!"
Probably my favorite !!!
"More than flowers"
Well, let's say in 2005 trip for the Camellie weekend I had the chance to discover a little bit the city more ... and it's not so bad.
The architecture is a little bit chaotic but these people really cares about making tourists welcome ...
