Gempenblick a hotel by Gimps: Reinach dump

What a dump, booked for me by someone who must have thought they were having a laugh.
Arrogant staff, if you don't speak german your looked at like scum & discriminated against.
An owner who is so petty he makes Basil Faulty look normal, except there is nothing funny about this pious little man. If your looking for backpacker accom at full service prices this is the place to stay. Watch out for the 'killer' staircase, a granite spiral masterpiece in stupidity; enjoy lugging your luggage up & down -- good luck.
Everything about this place is cheep and nasty, I stay in 50 – 75 hotels per year travelling on business, this is the worst I have experienced in a decade. Had my wife been with me it would have been walk in – walk out, it’s that bad!
Room = cheap, nasty, filthy, run-down & smelly, no choice for non-smoking
Bathroom = disgrace, broken shower, dirty
Restaurant – run like a Nazi concentration camp by overweight wannabe storm troopers who tell you where to sit forcing you to endure second-hand cigarette smoke. Food continues the cheep & nasty theme, I suffered food poisoning from a rancid chicken dish resulting in a very uncomfortable flight home.
Out of 5 stars this place simply doesn’t rate at all. 0/5

Gempenblick: The only hotel in Reinach?

WOW!
I never thought I would experience a hotel like this.

The hotel is sharing a 2 storey building with regular apartments and a hairdresser. The is a sign (in german of course ;) ) stating "reception in the restaurant".

I still don't know what I expected from the hotel but I do know that I did not except the food to be anything special nor did I expect the room to be fancy. Well I was right about the room.
It was a very clean room all in 70's style. The furniture must have been leftovers from the 60's or the 70's - quite charming :-)

The food... The food was great! Now I have to admit that I'm not sure that it was because of my low expectations that the food was really great but I doubt it! The food was great and the wine fantastic! Breakfast was a bit poor but yet lovely.

If you want a clean place with nice staff and you don't have any high requirement at all then this is the place for you :-)
