Travel Tips for Biel

Hometown

by Mastic

Biel/Bienne is a city in the district of Biel, canton of Berne in Switzerland.

It is located on the language boundary and is throughout bilingual. Biel is the German name for the town, Bienne its French counterpart. The town is often referred to in both languages simultaneously. Since January 1, 2005, the official name has been "Biel/Bienne", inofficially also "Biel-Bienne".

The city lies at the foot of the first mountain range of the Jura Mountains area, guarding the only practical connection to Jura in the area, on the northeastern shores of Lake Biel (Bielersee, Lac de Bienne), sharing the eastern tip of the lake with its sister city, Nidau, the administrative centre of the District of Nidau.

Empire of Silence

by Bigs

It really looks inviting from the outside, but it´s more like a ghost ride on a fun fair! Well, the show is quite good, I would say, but it´s not holding your expectations you have when you are lining up. I thought it would be a bit more...well maybe I had the wrong expectations.....

What I really liked was the camera outside the pavillion. It´s making pictures of you and you can see them on the large screen afterwards. Don´t try to hide, the camera will find you! It´s fun, and all people are having a good time here!!!

"Ups, it´s me!"
