Vacationing in the lap of luxury
Never in a million years would I spend the kind of money it takes to stay at Grand Hotel Regina in Grindelwald. However, my parents generously paid for my stay there in June of 2000, so I was lucky enough to experience it.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to the train station in Grindelwald and has a spectacular view of the Alps. Of course, anyplace you go in Grindelwald will have a spectacular view. What sets Grand Hotel Regina apart from all the other hotels in town is that it is a five-star luxury resort offering enormous rooms with lavish accommodations, a gourmet dining area, and the most personal and attentive service I have ever experienced in my life.
If you're looking for budget travel, this is most certainly NOT the place to stay. However, if you want the very best that the Alps have to offer (and you're willing to pay dearly for it), I am confident you will not be disappointed.
