Eiger Trail
by sandysmith
The Eiger Trial is a relatively easy, if somewhat narrow, trail that traverses the contours of the foot of the Eiger and you can see how awesome the Eiger is really close up. The trail proper begins near the Eigergletscher train station...see details in the travelogue.
The Lauberhorn Race
by Tripack
Each year in January all the ski champions take part to the FIS Ski World Cup to run the famous Lauberhorn downhill race. From the Lauberhorn top (2'300m) down to Wengen (1'300m) a vertiginious run of 4.4km where the champions run down in less 2min30sec... up to a maximum speed to 140 km/h.
So take your courage and ride the Lauberhorn run slowly and safelty ;-)
View from the top at 3454 m.

Your teeth are chattering, your hands are cold, you wonder if the camera will still work, you cram your hat on your head to ensure it does not blow away.
Out of this world. But that is what life can be like in Canada in the Winter, so I should be able to tough this place out. Yes Yes I can do it. Seriously the world at this height is so pristine, not many people up here.
A stunning view all around.
Truly worth the effort to get here.
Jungfraujoch
by Bigs
This is a very special train ride you can make. At the end is the highest train station in Europe, the so called "Top of Europe", the Jungfraujoch. It´s 3454 m high, and the observatory, the "Sphinx" up there is even at 3500 m. You find yourself inside the mountian world when you get out. The air is much thinner than down in Grindelwald and the views are terrific on a clear day. The say you can even see the Black Forrest on a very cear day...
Looking south is the famous Aletsch glacier....You can cross it on guided tours if you liek.. Must be a great adventure.... There are also two day glacier trips offered by Grindelwald Sports... Maybe one day I will do this....even if the glacier holes are really scary I think.... don´t won´t to experience one from inside really.... :)
You can easly spend half the day up on Jungfraujoch. There is a tobboganing, skiing hill, a spider highway, polar dogs restaurants, an ice grotto........ Or you can hike to the Mönchsjochhuette...but remember the path is on ice and snow... Or just enjoy the views....
Grosse Scheidigg

This is a mountain pass south of Grindlewald. It is a 3 1/2 hour hike from Grindlewald, but can be approached from various other hiking paths, including First and Pfigstigg. It is also possible to ride the bus here (though very expensive). From here, there are great views of all the mountains in the region, inclulding the Upper Glacier.
