Lake Bachalpsee Photo Ops
Is there a best time of day in July to photograph the Subject lake and is the return walk to the station up or down grade and 45 minutes also?

Hi there
The lake lies in a little valley facing south. Across the main valley the panorama is dominated by high peaks (thats the main panorama you probably want to capture). This means if you take the pic at noon you would take it into the sun. To much earlier or later and the lake might be in the shade.
If you google "Bachalpsee" you will find lots of pictures and you might be able to judge the daytime when these where taken.
Furthermore Google Earth is a great source to see where the place is located and how the sun travels during the day.
And be aware that blue sky in this region is not granted to all. Normally clouds increase in the afternoon and might turn into a thunderstorm.

Travel Tips for Grindelwald
Second Station
The journey inside the mountain has up to now been in an easterly direction. The second sation is at a point where the rails turn to the south. This stop allows one to see the upper level of a Glacier.
I need some advice here, I thought it was the Lower Grindelwald Glacier, but it could be the Eigergletscher.
In any case your eyes ar blinking in the white light reflected form the glacier with the sun shining on the surface.

Wildflowers
The wildflower meadows around Grindelwald are plentiful. From experience I believe that June is probably the best month in which to see these but is very dependent on the weather conditions. You will get a good variety according to the altitude that you visit.

Pfingstegg
Pfingstegg is situated between the famous glaciers of Grindelwald and this marvellous place can easily be reached by an aerial cablecar for some great views over the village. A day can easily be spent up here tackling the paths in either direction and stopping off at the moutain restaurant here for some tasty treats.
