This hotel is situated right in the heart of Interlaken, the starting point for many excursions. There are 150 rooms, which are spacious, comfortable and clean. Although the hotel exterior is old in style, the interior of the rooms is modern and fresh. When booking a double room, you get a twin bed scenario, this seems to be standard practice in many European hotels.
When you arrive at Interlaken station, walk for about 5 minutes down the Main Road. The entrance is slightly obscure, and to the left. If you don't have your own European converter plus, you can put a deposit down for one for ten euros from reception. You can also book all excursions here. My advice? Get a plug asap as they are very popular, book a ride on a horse carriage, and book the Jung Frau if you havent done so already.
Morning breakfast was excellent - a superb buffet with hot and cold, full English/continental/fruit and cereal as choices. The little triangle cheeses and nutellas were favourites with us :)
The breakfast tables are round and seat 8, so you dont feel squashed and can leasurily eat your meal. The room has a lovely high ceiling and is airy and welcoming.
