Carlton Europe Hotel, Interlaken, Switzerland - Reviews and Hotel Information

This hotel is short walk west from the Interlaken Ost train station. We were there in November 2003. It appeared as if they were in the midst of renovation. The back of the hotel was covered with scaffolding. The hotel doors seemed to be of unfinished wood. A workman was painting on the first floor. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was large with 2 twins and down comforters European style. The private bathroom was also large and newly renovated.

The renovations were ongoing. When we entered our room we forgot the key in the lock outside the room. We were locked in the room. We called the desk for 1/2 hour and got no answer. There was no other exit from the room. Finally someone at the front desk answered and came up to let us out. We were much more careful about our room keys after that!
In house restaurant served Indian food. The chef seemed Bengali from the taste of the food. Food was quite spicey for a European diner.
