Take the cable-car route to Schilthorn
by Sharrie
Take the cable-car route to SCHILTHORN: This is where you can get a bird's eye view of the entire mountain range, & you get to feel like on top of the world! It has a rotating restaurant at an altitude of 3,000 m which offers a spectacular 360° panoramic view over the Alps. From here, on a clear day you can see forever! The 30 minutes Schilthorn Cableway ride bypassing from Murren & Gimmelwald at 1400 m is so magnificent I'm loss for words...
A view from my Hotel Room
by adventerrtravel22
I stayed at the Grand Hotel - Victoria-Jungfrau. An amazing hotel that will empty your wallet staying there. Every Room has a view of the mountains. As all tourist know, pictures NEVER do these types of pictures justice. The views 360 degrees, every angle.

Taste the local with(out) moderation ;-)
As I know some VTer's get their BeerMaster since ages, I am happy to announce that the Jungfrau water is also used to produce a great local beverage under the label RugenBräu since 1866.
The tasting list is not so long, so try it and enjoy it:
- Export Bier (Lager) - 4.8%
Noch einen Schluck! (=One more please!)
- Spezial Bier - 5.2% my special favorite ;-)
Noch einen Schluck!
- Spezial Bier Dunkel - 5.2%
Noch einen Schluck!
- Alpenperle - 4.8%
Noch einen Schluck!
- Zwickel Bier - 4.8%
Noch einen Schluck!

Huskies at the top of Jungfraujoch
by globetrott
Visiting Jungfraujoch is a must, especiually, when the weather is fine ! One of the various attractions there are the special breed of Greenland-dogs , living on Jungfraujoch in the so-called "Polarhundekolonie" since more than 100 years already. At first they were needed in order to supply the workers and engeneers building the train-track, later-on they became a tourist-attraction and during summer you may go around the glacier in sleds torn by these Greenland-dogs.
The living-quaters of the dogs is close to Eigergletscher and it may be visited by tourists upon appointment - see the telephone-number below !
The dogs live there in small groups and may run around freely in a fenced area at the Eiger-glacier or return to their stables. They will also participate at various dog-sledge-racinges and TV-productions.
It is a pity that the season of the dog-sledges on Jungfraujoch was over already, when I had been there in end of October - maybe next year !!
Packing List

If hiking, take a small backpack to carry water, food, camera, map, souvenirs, etc.... I was in the Alps during April and was hiking all over the mountains in shorts and t-shirts (also took along a sweatshirt in case it was cold.) There was no need for a coat...maybe a light one at night...but I didn't need one. I've been told that my wearing shorts and t-shirts experience in the Alps during April was an abnormality - that usually warmer clothes are needed. Maybe, the cold just doesn't bother me as much as it does other people. Once you start taking pictures of the mountains, it's hard to stop. There are tons of scenic spots for snappin' photos. Take more than one roll of film. Hiking shoes/boots are a must.
