Grandhotel Giessbach: a great hotel closeby Interlaken

Grandhotel Giessbach is one of the most romantic hotels , you may find in Switzerland : It was built in 1855 high above Brienzersee - opposite of Brienz and next to a scenic waterfall. The best time for the hotel was between 1870 and 1914 but afterwards tourism changed a lot and it was hard to fill such a remote hotel.
In 1985 it was restored and it looks really great again from inside !! In Grandhotel Giessbach you may still breath the good old times, that seem to have stood still for ages there... Unique Quality: You may get to Giessbach :
1)on the road from Brienz - BUT it is quite narrow and might be dangerous at certain times, because only at a few places it is possible to pass by other cars, and it might be good to avoid the times, when the public bus goes to Axalp.
2)By ship - the elegant, traditional way, most of the tourists came that way in the good old times of the hotel. Each and every ship on Brienzersee stops there !!

Ringgenberg IN - Interlaken OUT: Ringgenberg IN - Interlaken OUT

Brienzersee is a nice hotel very close to Interlaken in a village called Ringgenberg which is much cheaper than Interlaken.

The hotel is very beautiful with amazing view from the window , a nice restaurant and nice staff.

Appartementhotel ORION: Great view

As stated in the e-mail from the owners, the apartment is about 10 mins away from the train station.
It was smaller than expected but nevertheless, self sufficient and clean. I couldn’t ask for more.
Each room has 2 beds (folding into wall), cooking corner with 2 hot plates, sink, refrigerator, cooking utensils and a separate shower/toilet attached to the room. Medium size about 18 sq meters.

Unique Quality: The Orion Apartment House is located in a quiet area with view to the mountains.
Check-in 2 pm, check-out 10 am. Payment cash.
Reserved rooms are kept until 4 p.m.
1 studio (twin bedded room) facing south with terrace, TV at the rate of sfr. 80.-- + visitor taxes sfr. 5.90 per day / 2 persons. Total amount for 2 persons, 2 days: sfr. 160.-- + visitor taxes sfr.11.80 = sfr. 171.80
Very friendly owners.

Zobrist's House: Private accomodation

We had a great experience here. In the month of August there are many activities in village. Though located in Goldswil, it is only 15 minutes by foot from Interlaken East Railway station. An ideal place to relax at the bank of the river Aare. Two bedrooms, salon, kitchen and a glassed terrace.

Unique Quality: Beautiful garden space, outside terrace with grill and great views . Either you'll enjoy watching the boat cruises passing throught the river to the lake of Brienz or acquire some fishing license and start throwing baits for dinner.

Private Accomodations: Holiday Apartment

Just spotted as we did our walks towards the river Aare and lake Brienz. It looks great and a quiet location. The Eastern Railway station, Boatstation and Shopping is only a few minutes away.

Unique Quality: Haven't stayed yet but looks like a nice accomodation.

HOTEL CHALET OBERLAND: ** IS OK BUT HOW ABOUT A *** HOTEL?

This hotel is located in the very heart of Interlaken city centre, what more could you wish for? Interlaken has lovely shops and it won't be difficult to find (yourself & family & friends) some nice gifts!

It is a special place because the atmospheric is "as home" and very friendly staff will see to your needs.....

They serve SWISS CUISINE (but also other things if you don't want to try the Swiss Kitchen) which offers substantional meals for skiiers, snow-boarders, walkers and other adventurous guests!
