Excellent Hotel, Well Located

We stayed 4 nights mid September 2010 and had a most enjoyable time. Our hotel room was much better than we expected and included a good sized lounge room and balcony overlooking the town to the mountain.

We took half board which included breakfast and dinner in the hotel's dining room. The evening meal was 5 course, with limited selection, and was quality dining.

Our room was on the 3rd floor, was the result of two hotel rooms being combined in a recent refurbishment. No lift.

Lauterbrunnen rail is a few minutes walk down the hill.

Room for 2 persons including half board was CHF 264.20 per day, Double Room Superior.

We would stay again.

Unique Quality: Quality dining room including 5 course dinner when booking half board.

which hotel?

which hotel?

Thank you on the advice to stay in Lauterbrunnen instead of Interlaken.
This i will do....now my question is, should i stay at Schutzen hotel or Silberhorn hotel?
Which ever hotel i choose, im after a balcony with a view, would i get this with a standard room, or do i have to pay more for a superior room to get the view?
Has anybody stayed at these hotels?, please share your opinion.

We stayed at Hotel Oberland which had a balcony overlooking the Main Street and the homes and mountains on the other side of the valley. We did not have to pay extra for the balcony.

I didnt like the look of the hotels there for the huge money - looked so commercial with hardly any character apart from some swiss carvings outside or something at the time - though this is 10 years ago - and we rang from the phones that are at the train station there at Lauterbrunnen to whatever advertised hotels in the area and caught the cog railway up to Wengen - one of the best things I ever done!! (it was only my first time in Europe and only my 3rd day out of our 6 weeks driving around the UK and northern Ireland)

We stayed at Hotel Falcon, in a tip in my page there somewhere, we got up there in the dark, got picked up by horse and carriage and taken to this old style grande dame looking hotel with celebrities photos and glamourous salon style and so on and the next morning what a vision it was.

So I would suggest thinking about that!
glorious views and the trip back down on the train was stunning looking down into the valley of Lauterbunnen below and Murren opposite.

If the weather is co-operative Wengen offers some amazing views of the Trio themselves...Jaungfrau,Monch,and the Eiger, also views of the valley...from various vantage points....from a previous post I was under the impression the poster was only staying one night..arriving 1700 ish I think it stated..

In any event...maybe this can help you.
