Tschirren Bed and Breakfast: The best place to stay in Spiez

We stayed with Fritz and Marietta Tschirren in Spiez for four nights at the end of July, 2009 and LOVED it! The home is about a 10 minute walk up the hill from the train station but nothing too strenuous. We printed a Yahoo map ahead of time and found it accurate. Marietta writes English well but does not speak as well as she writes. She is a sweet lady who will do whatever she can to give you a pleasant stay. Our room had a lovely balcony that overlooked Lake Thun with beautiful mountains behind it. It was AMAZING!!! She served a lovely, homemade breakfast every morning - bread, jam, coffee, juice, yogurt and cereal. She may not want this advertised, but she even let us do a load of laundry, hang it out to dry and she brought it in for us when we were gone and it started to rain. Now that's service!! We were highly impressed and grateful. The rooms were clean, as were the bathrooms. The bathrooms are shared but the first night we had the whole place to ourselves.
