I can pre-book car parking in Lauterbrunnen for 7 days. If I do so, can I take my car in and out of the car park, or do I have to pay on each entry/exit?
NB I've researched relative prices of Jungfraubahnen and Berneroberland train passes, and it will be better for us to get the Jungfraubahnen pass and take the car for one longer trip.
I would assume since you have to pre-book for the entire 7 days that you should be able to go in and out with no problem at all.
Thank you, you're right. I've just had an email from the Lauterbrunnen Parkhaus saying (if I'm translating the German correctly):
"When you prebook with us, you must come to the ticket booth on floor 7 on arrival, to pay for the entire duration. Then you can come and go with the same ticket, as often as you like. (No problem)!!"
or in German:
"Wenn Sie bei uns vorbuchen, müssen Sie bei der Ankunft mit Ihrem Ticket an den Schalter Etage 7 kommen, um für die ganze Parkdauer zu bezahlen.
Danach können Sie mit Ihrem Auto ins Parkhaus hinein und wieder herusfahren,mit dem gleichen Ticket, so oft wie Sie möchten. (Kein Problem) !!"
So that's good, I'll do that.

If you're in the Jungfrau Region, you must visit the Schilthorn, which ofcause is home to the revolving restaurant which featured in a James Bond film quite a few years back. The times I enjoyed the most were when I would look around and just be surround by masses of mountains covered in snow! It was amazing! Everything looked so fresh and all around are just picture postcard scenes. It was also great to take some time to relax and sit in the sun to warm up!
Staubachfall / Staubbach is the name of the giant waterfall close to Lauterbrunnen, and you may see it best, when passing by in the train taking you up from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen. This waterfall is more than 300 meters high and it is even illuminated at night.
Another good chance to see this waterfall is, when you get down the cable-car from Muerren (see my last pic).
Next to the Staubachfalls is a large car-park ( and of course you have to pay there for the parking, but at least walking to the waterfall is free of charge.
BUT the Staubachfalls certainly look best from a big distance !!
Usually one of the tour companies will organise a curling evening, so get your tickets early as places are limited.
Head for the ice rink and you will be given the basic rules and a quick demo, then you are given your brush and its time to curl.
I found it difficult to aim the stone without sliding along full length on the ice, but it was great fun. Afterwards, a glass of steaming gluhwien chased the chills away
In a walking-distance of just about 300 meters from the trainstation you may see this lovely small church of Wengen, surrounded by a small park and a few benches, from where you may enjoy the great panorama of Eiger, Moench, Jungfrau + Breithorn, Tschingelhorn and Gspaltenhorn. Take a closer look at the special construction of the roof of the church-tower. The tower has 4 corners, but the roof has just 3 corners, hanging over the tower a bit, obviously in order to be able to stand the heavy loads of snow in that area.
Church-servics is always on sundays at 09.30a.m.
The major attraction of Wengen is certainly the great view that you will have from almost any hotel in Wengen. Interlaken is really proud of the tiny part they may see of Jungfrau, but here in Wengen you may see Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau at the same time in combination with Breithorn, Tschingelhorn and Spaltenhorn. A vacation in Wengen will also very special, because car are not allowed there ( with a very few local exceptions). You may store/park your car in Lauterbrunnen and have to take the train to Wengen...
