At This stage, Happy! by stanian First off we thought we were to be picked up from the station, er no! we had to walk up the hill, our luggage was late and locks missing from them. We Stayed here in what was described to us as the family annexe, we have two children one eleven and one three. It started fine, the rooms were basic but quite large, we had two small and one large balconies. The views from the balconies were stunning. But first time on the balcony for my youngest resulted in the first of many splinters in his feet and hands, so this is the first negative point. We were also unable to lock any of the doors leading to the balconies bad point number two. Maybe one of the children will fall off. Next came the windows, which again could not be secured and we had to position tables against them to stop the little one from maybe falling out. Not really suitable for young children. After the first day we had a complaint from the room below that we were making too much noise, the floors are all old wood and they creaked like mad, the doors also squeeked loudly and to shut them you had to give them quite a bang and of course we have children who like to be on holiday and are a little excited. We can't be expected to sneak around all holiday. Apart from that the waiters from Portugal were very good the food in the hotel was also quite good but the menu was in French and if you needed to change anything you had to tell them by eleven AM. One night there was going to be a wedding so all of the other paying guests had to go to a Pizza place for their evening meal which most people thought was not fair specially as we were in our third day of heavy rain. To be honest though the Pizza's were very good. The hotel was described by someone else as Switzerland's equivalent to Fawlty towers. Anyone for Torquay? Me! Me! Me! In the brochure it says "people return year after year" I won't be one of them.
Great views of the Jungfrau and lauterbrunnan Valley. Good food. people complaining about the noise even though you're in the family annexe. Having to eat at a Pizzeria so someone else can have their wedding do.
