Christmas is something very traditional in Europe and most cities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland have Xmas markets. There u'll find all kinds of handcrafts, normally done by things found in the forests...like plants, wood and so on...and of course traditonal food, like sausages, crepes, the famous "Gluehwein"(=hot wine with spices...it sound strange, but I like it,it's sweet and tasty...and I don't like normal wine:-)), apple punch, Christmas cakes and cookies.
If you don't know about this tradtion, if u have never seen it and if you are in Europe in this time of the year, you should check it out!
Oberer Spaniöl
thats quite a strange name that does not tell me anything, but its used for this building that you will find next to the steps taking you up to the "Hof" and opposite of the "Rhätisches Museum". Its one of there very few houses standing alone and not in a row like in the rest of the town.
This building is privately owned, so there is no access for tourists !
I have to say, that I'm in love with all the wonderful colours of autumn in Europe. I haven't seen it anywhere else...but I can assure u that they r worth a look in Europe.
If u r here in October - September...u should walk through the forests or even in the cities and see all the beautiful colours at the mountains. green, brown, yellow, red...fantastic!!!
Visit the Cathedral's museum: Yes, there's a museum as well, showing exhibits from the Cathedral's treasury, most of which date back to the Middle Ages. It is open from 15:30 till 17:00 each day from Monday till Friday. So I suggest timing your visit to the Cathedral accordingly...
