I am taking Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moriz. But I have a hotel booked for me in Davos : Arabellasheraton Hotel Seehof,Promenade 159, Davos 7260, Switzerland.
How can I reach this hotel from Filisur?? I have to use the trains and can someone tell me how frequently are the trains available and does the swiss pass is valid on that train.Should I pay any supplement for that.I ve taken a swiss pass 2 nd class.
Please, have you read my reply to the Vitznauerhof post? ALL trains are usable with a Swiss Pass, ALL schedules are visible at www.sbb.ch, and MOST train routes have at least hourly trains during the day. Only special trains require supplements, and there are always a lot of "normal" trains on the same route.
Chur is a huge (although beautiful) detour. The local trains go from Filisur to Davos Platz in 23 min.
Actually no - the Vereina tunnel leads from Klosters to the lower Engadin. The line from Filisur to Davos is old, there are only local trains on it and it is not extremely scenic (just nice mountains) - it is a part of the loop Chur-Filisur-Davos-Klosters-Landquart-Chur.
You mean this extremely stupid triangle Samedan-Pontresina-St.Moritz? I think the Rhaetian Railway engineer that designed it was drunk at the time...
The best help to sort out your route is this webpage: http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm
It is very detailed with regard to timing, connections etc
